Rice was the sole business of the original company. Operating throughout the world as a principal, Connell Rice & Sugar Co., a division of The Connell Company, exports domestically grown rice, as well as rice grown in the Far East and other areas to Asia, Africa and the Middle East and also distributes rice within the United States. Milled rice, brown rice, paddy rice and seed rice are regularly handled. The company not only buys and sells all types of rice but also has long standing relationships for handling its storage, toll milling and transportation. Principals of the company have owned rice farms for well over thirty years.
