Connell Finance and its affiliates have been active in virtually all aspects of the asset-based finance, equipment leasing, project finance and real estate financing markets for more than a quarter century. The company has focused its efforts in the following areas: (1) investments, as an equity owner, in leveraged and single investor leases of real estate and large ticket capital equipment such as locomotives, airplanes, railcars and power plants and middle market assets such as forklift trucks and equipment; (2) syndication/placement, to other investors, in connection with transactions in which Connell both participates in as well as manages; (3) brokerage, to other investors, in connection with transactions in which Connell manages but does not participate; and (4) investment banking/advisory services to lessees, borrowers, lessors and lenders. Since 1975, Connell Finance has arranged and/or participated in over $15 billion of asset-based financings, of which approximately $1 billion the company has participated in directly as an investor.

Connell Finance Company’s business activities are segregated into three operating divisions: investment banking, equipment leasing and equipment remarketing and management.

The Investment Banking Group provides financial advisory and investment banking services to its customers in connection with raising capital or investing in structured financial products. In addition, the Investment Banking Group operates as Connell Finance Company’s investment arm in connection with leveraged leases and other asset-based financings in which the Company may act as a principal. The Investment Banking Group has been an active and continuous participant in the structured finance marketplace for its entire quarter-century history, and has dealt in the market from all aspects: as lessor, financial advisor to lessors, lessee, financial advisor to lessees, bridge lender, debt placement agent, residual guarantor, and asset manager and remarketing agent. Few others, if any, can lay claim to the continuity or breadth of experience that Connell is able to provide.

Connell’s middle market equipment leasing investments are arranged and managed by the company’s Connell Equipment Leasing Company division. For almost twenty years, Connell Finance has been entering into short- to mediumterm single investor leases with large industrial companies around the world. The division has assembled a large portfolio of construction, ground support, and manufacturing equipment and is believed to be the largest independent lessor of material handling equipment in the United States.

The third leg of Connell Finance’s business strategy is represented by the company’s Asset Remarketing Group. This group is responsible for all remarketing activity (re-leasing and asset sales) in connection with Connell Finance’s portfolio of leased assets, both big-ticket and middle-market. The Remarketing Group also provides remarketing and portfolio management services for other investors and lessors on a diverse range of large ticket asset types. Its constant presence in the secondary equipment markets helps the Remarketing Group create significant value in remarketing assets, both for the company and for third party clients, by recommending appropriate remarketing strategies and then securing end of lease renewals or asset dispositions that maximize earnings from a particular asset.
