With a focus on residual earnings, it is critical for us to have portfolio management and remarketing expertise in assets wherein we have an interest. Connell has significant interests in such assets as real estate, power plants, locomotives, rolling stock, barges, commercial and corporate aircraft and high tech equipment. These positions have originated through direct investments in long-term leases, remarketing assignments and portfolio management for third parties. Currently, Connell has portfolio management and remarketing responsibilities for a portfolio of over $3 billion of assets.

In our normal course of business as a lessor, lessee and lessor advisor, and remarketing agent, Connell is in constant contact with all the lessees who lease our managed assets, other users of the same asset, the original manufacturers of the assets, refurbishers, intermediaries and brokers, appraisers and lessors. With this constant contact in the industry and our long term relationships within the industry that have developed through our years of contact, we are able to track market trends and advise our clients on how best to determine the appropriate re-marketing strategy.

We believe that the central elements of any successful remarketing plan include having complete knowledge of the asset, charting trends for the asset’s usefulness and beginning your remarketing strategy well in advance of the lease termination. The work done during the initial and ongoing phases of our portfolio management program will establish the foundation for the successful disposition of the asset. This strategy, along with a highly skilled professional staff, will ensure an orderly realization of the highest value available in the market.

Connell’s Asset Remarketing Group also actively manages the re-leasing and disposition of Connell Equipment Leasing Company’s middle market assets from locations in New Jersey, Ohio, and Michigan. Connell sells used equipment directly to end-users, dealers, or wholesalers. Additionally, Connell rents refurbished used material handling equipment for periods as short as one week under full maintenance leases or operation leases.
